We're looking for an enthusiastic, communicative and reliable Floor Assistants to help make V&A East’s vision a reality.

Co-created with young people, creatives, and East London locals, V&A East Museum celebrates creativity’s power to bring change around the world. It will feature exhibitions, creative commissions, and events spotlighting the people, ideas and creativity shaping global culture right now. V&A East Museum opens on 18 April 2026.

The team of Floor Assistants will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of visitor experience and safety across the building. They will ensure that our visitors and diverse audiences feel welcome and engaged, championing V&A East’s values. They will play a key role as V&A East establishes and builds its identity as a leading cultural hub. 

V&A East aims to provide a holistic welcome for our visitors. This role will focus on our visitor experience, retail spaces and daytime front of house security awareness. We will provide excellent opportunities for training and experience as it is important for us to provide you with a career-enhancing skillset.

We are looking for applications from those living in, or with significant lived experience of, our surrounding boroughs (Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest) to help build V&A East for and by the local communities.

The museum holds many of the UK's national collections and houses some of the greatest resources for the study of architecture, furniture, fashion, textiles, photography, sculpture, painting, jewellery, glass, ceramics, book arts, Asian art and design, theatre and performance.
