MA Fashion Storytelling is a new collaboration between the V&A and London College of Fashion (LCF), creating an MA degree that focuses on the history, theory and curation of fashion. The course will welcome its first cohort of students in September 2026. With specialist teaching and sustained access to the V&A collections, this course will provide an intellectual framework to consider the active role played by museum professionals, researchers, and audiences in the shaping of fashion narratives.

The Lecturer in Fashion Curation and Storytelling will play an active role in the design and delivery of MA Fashion Storytelling, and will lead the V&A’s teaching and assessment contributions to the course. They will organise V&A contributions to the course, with a particular focus on two modules ‘Curating Fashion Research’ and ‘Curation in Practice’, brokering support from different specialists across the V&A’s family of sites. The Lecturer will support the Head of Academic Partnerships in ensuring V&A compliance with the academic regulations of our partner institution and work to maintain a high standard of student satisfaction.

The Lecturer in Fashion Curation and Storytelling will contribute to the V&A’s wider research culture and strategic priorities through their own innovative research and by contributing to research project development, programming and/or other emerging opportunities.

The V&A is the world’s leading museum of art and design, housing a permanent collection of over 2.8 million objects, books and archives that span over 5,000 years of human creativity. Our mission is to be recognised as the world's leading museum of art, design and performance, and to enrich people's lives by promoting research, knowledge and enjoyment of the designed world to the widest possible audience. We strive to make the V&A matter to more people and in that context we work to the following six strategic objectives:

  • To create a world class visitor and learning experience across all V&A sites and collections.
